Student Discount
Students 26 years and older have a special tariff called student discount. The discount is only given on 30-day season tickets. For other ticket types, the age category adult applies. Students 20-25 years old travel on the youth fare (20-25 years old)
Period tickets for students over 26 years of age are sold in the Ultra app, My Pages and the Reseinfo office at Vasaplan or Umeå University Hospital (NUS). Select the category student. Student discount is given on 30-day period tickets.
This is required to get a student discount 26 years and older
To travel with a student discount, you need to have a digital student ID from Mecenat, WeStudents, Studentkortet/stuk.co, Hitract or Orbi in the respective app with the student travel symbol.
Remember that the student travel symbol must be valid for the entire period that the purchased ticket is valid. It is not enough that the student travel symbol was valid when you bought the ticket. At a ticket inspection, you need to be able to present a valid photo ID.
How much do you have to study to get a student price
You must study at a university, college, or other adult education that entitles you to study funds from CSN. To receive the student award, you must study for at least 10 consecutive weeks with a study rate of at least 50% during the semester (15 Higher Education Credits/semester).
If you are studying SFI, you are not eligible to travel with the student price group.
Student travel symbol
A valid student travel symbol must be visible on your student ID. The colour of the symbol varies depending on the semester and the black color is an example. Here you can see the student travel symbol:
